From Hornbach to Coop

Erich Mäder, 40, previously marketing/purchasing manager at Hornbach Switzerland, is moving over to a competitor company, Coop Bau + Hobby. He will take over management of the DIY division from Andreas Frischknecht, 50, who is stepping across within the group to head up another division comprising Import Parfumerie and Christ (watches and jewellery). After a one-month induction period Erich Mäder is to take up the management reins at Bau + Hobby from 1 May 2011. He had worked for Hornbach since 2001. The move is to be seen in combination with changes in the whole Coop management team. From 1 September Joos Sutter, 47, will take over as chief executive officer, as well as being responsible for the retail division, thus replacing Hansueli Loosli, 55. Sutter, who has worked for the group since 1996, has been a member of the management team since 2010.
