“Become the world’s expert at making home improvement easier for customers” – that is the aim with which Kingfisher sounds the bell for the second round of the Delivering Value programme initiated in 2009/2010. This is revealed in the British company’s report for the 2010/2011 financial year that was published today. The subject also dominated an interview with CEO Ian Cheshire conducted by DIY International together with British, French and Belgian colleagues. Among the announcements in this context were ten new own brands that are to be stocked in all the trading formats operated by the European market leader. A detailed account of the interview will be published in the next issue of our magazine, due out at the end of April. Both interview and annual report have expressly gone into securing greater uniformity of the ranges in the individual trading formats maintained by Kingfisher in eight countries. As a result it is expected that around half of the core product offer will be the same in all of the group’s DIY chains in the future.
