The Japanese chain Komeri reports missing staff members and great devastation

It goes without saying that the catastrophe in Japan has also affected DIY retailing. Komeri, a DIY chain, reports great devastation and missing employees. Four outlets have been totally destroyed and seven stores are flooded. So far it has not been possible to open 20 stores. More than 200 of the chain’s total of just under 1 000 outlets have been badly affected by the earthquake.
