Last year Byggmax, a Swedish DIY retail chain, achieved sales of SEK 2.773 bn, or 13.5 per cent more than the previous year. The increase comes to 2.7 per cent in like-for-like terms. The company opened twelve stores over the course of the year, five each in Sweden and Norway and two in Finland, so that the total number of outlets amounted to 73 at the end of December. Plans are for the addition of 12 to 15 more stores during this current year, six of them in Sweden, three to five in Norway and three or four in Finland. Byggmax also intends to further develop the company’s online business, which was launched in 2010.
