New boss for Grafton Group

Gavin Slark to succeed Michael Chadwick, in office since 1985

Gavin Slark, 45, is to be the new group chief executive office (ceo) of the Irish Grafton Group. He is the designated successor to Michael Chadwick, who has occupied the position since 1985. Slark comes from the BSS Group, UK wholesale distributors, and is due to join the company on 1 April 2011. Chadwick will move over to become chairman of the supervisory board on 1 July. At the end of the year – not August, as planned – Leo Martin, executive director and chief operating officer since 2005, will also be retiring.
