Larry D. Stone retires. New appointees to four positions on the board

Larry D. Stone, president and chief operating officer at Lowe’s, is to retire at the beginning of June 2011 from the company where he has worked for 42 years. No new appointment to this position is planned. The American DIY chain has also announced several other changes to its board. Executive vice president Robert J. Gfeller jr will have responsibility for merchandising, and Rick D. Damron for store operations. As a senior vice president, William D. Robinson is in charge of the area of customer support services, while Richard D. Maltsbarger takes over the strategy portfolio.
