Jumbo now a partner of Arena

The Swiss Jumbo-Markt AG is now also a shareholding partner of Arena, an international buying alliance. As has been recently disclosed by the company, this step took place as long ago as June 2010. Jumbo had already been a member of Arena since 2007. Zeus of Germany and ITM, a French company, were the founding members of the alliance, each with a 37.05 per cent shareholding. Jumbo had reached an agreement for cooperation with Zeus in 2005. Other shareholding partners are Rona (Canada), Ditas (Denmark) and Bricostore (Hungary, Romania and Croatia). Altogether the ten partners and members of Arena are represented by a total of more than 3 400 sales outlets in 17 countries; their purchasing volume amounts to more than € six bn.
