Clas Ohlson steps up the pace

The chain grows by five per cent in the first six months, and by ten per cent in November

Swedish retail chain Clas Ohlson completed the first half of its financial year (May to October) with sales up by four per cent to SKr 2.661 bn. The company puts a figure on ten per cent on its growth rate in November, explaining that this was the result of good Christmas and winter sales figures, plus new openings. During the current financial year Clas Ohlson is to open 20 to 22 new stores, including four outlets to be opened in Britain before Christmas still.
