In a survey carried out by the GfK in Europe’s three major DIY markets, Germany, France and Britain, Bosch has now obtained confirmation of the fact that doing-it-yourself has long been a women’s domain as well. More than 80 per cent of the respondents carry out jobs in the home and garden independently; 35 per cent of them do so even frequently. It is particularly important for 43 per cent of them to be able to complete minor household repairs themselves. And their self-confidence is increasing: one woman in three is even prepared to take on demanding projects.
