Race to catch up

Chairman of the Baywa-concern Klaus Josef Lutz calls the second quarter of 2010 a successful race to catch up. The turnover for the period until the 30 June 2010 amounted to € 3.8 bn (previous year € 3.7 bn). The result before tax and interest (EBIT) amounted to € 56.3 mio in the first halfyear (previous year: € 52.3 mio). In the DIY segment the turnover of the first halfyear of 2010, compared to the same time period of the year before, rose by € 50 mio. to € 851.3 mio. The EBIT until the 30 June 2010 amounted to about € 2 mio (previous year: € 1.5 mio). The turnover in the DIY and Garden markets rose in the first halfyear to € 259.2 mio (previous year: € 245.6 mio).
