The European DIY Retail Association, EDRA, is continuing to grow. This time even beyond Europe. The association has announced the name of a new member, Sodimac, which is the biggest DIY and home improvement retailer in Latin America with 65 stores in four countries (Chile, Peru, Argentina and Columbia). Sodimac is to become a member of EDRA’s specially installed Global Home Improvement Network (GHIN). This grouping currently numbers six companies: Bunnings (Australia), Epicentrk (Ukraine), Baucenter and Story Arsenal/Trest SCM (both Russia) and Stroymart (Kazakhstan), plus Sodimac. EDRA now has 24 members in 20 countries, and these members operate DIY stores in 43 countries. The Association, which was founded in 2002 by the BHB and FMB, the German and French DIY associations respectively, has been an independent organisation since 1 January 2010.
