The first four months brought declining sales for DIY retailers in many countries

The majority of the figures reported by the industry in Europe for the first four months of the current year come complete with a minus sign. As announced at the European Home Improvement Forum in Vienna, cumulative sales from January to April remained below last year's results, except in Russia (with a double-digit increase), Belgium and Norway:
Germany: -1 %
United Kingdom: -3 %
France: -2 %
Netherlands: -4 %
Belgium: +1 %
Austria: -1 %
Ireland: -6 %
Norway: +/- 0 %
Russia: +10 %
Hungary: worse than -10 %
