Obi acquires Imo Markt GmbH

Obi is acquiring nine established DIY stores through an outright takeover of Imo Markt GmbH in the course of a share deal. The outlets are located in Graz (2 branches), Fohnsdorf, Gralla, Klagenfurt, Villach, Spital an der Drau, Wolfsberg and St. Veit an der Glan. Owned by the Niedersüß family, Imo Markt Gmbh was Obi's biggest franchise partner in Austria. According to information from Wolf Theiss, the law firm advising Obi, the transaction is still subject to approval by the competition authorities.
