Epicentrk, a Ukrainian DIY retailer, has opened its 23rd DIY store in the capital Kiev. Reputed to be the biggest DIY store in the world, it boasts a retail area of 58 000 m². The official opening was carried out by the country's president, Victor Yushchenko, last Friday, 11 December 2009. The store, located in a two-storey building and complete with garden centre, has been open to customers since Saturday. This is the DIY retailer's sixth outlet in Kiev: another store of 46 000 m² is only around 20 minutes away by road. The company intends to open two more stores during the coming year. The next issue of our specialist magazine DIY International will include a detailed report on the new store in Kiev.
