In the third quarter of 2009 Home Depot, the world’s biggest DIY retailer, recorded net sales 8.0 per cent down on the previous year’s figure to US $ 16.4 bn (-6.9 per cent like-for-like). Net profit fell 8.9 per cent to US $ 689 mio. For the first nine months of the company’s fiscal year Home Depot reports sales down by 9.0 per cent to US $ 51.6 bn. Net profit achieved a 0.2 per cent increase over this same period to US $ 2.32 bn.
