Baumax moves ahead

Baumax has announced an increase in turnover in Austria for the first six months of 2009. The market leader recorded sales of € 308 mio, which is over 2 per cent more than in the same period last year. This positive development is being attributed in particular to growth in the garden segment and the area of thermal refurbishment, as well as the introduction of new product ranges and services. According to the company, business abroad remained on last year’s level, though no figures were mentioned. The store portfolio was expanded by three more outlets (in Bulgaria, Croatia and Hungary) for a total of 140.
