International trade worrying

The German Praktiker group of companies recorded sales of € 968.0 mio in the third quarter, which is 4.8 per cent down on the same period last year. This fall is attributable to the sluggishness of the group's international business, where sales revenue declined by 15.5 per cent to € 304.5 mio, or by 19.8 per cent in like-for-like terms. According to official information, negative currency effects were responsible for around two-thirds of the sales losses. By contrast, sales in Germany rose by 1.0 per cent to € 663.5 mio.
