Lowe’s entry into the market in Mexico is imminent. The American company is going to launch the first two DIY stores of approximately 9 500 m² in Monterrey in the final quarter of its fiscal year that ends in January 2010. Lowe’s has announced the opening of between three and five stores altogether in Monterrey. It plans to invest a sum of US $ 18 – $ 20 mio per outlet. The expansion into Mexico marks the DIY group’s involvement in a second foreign country after Canada, where the first three stores were inaugurated in December 2007.
