Another competitor

Lowe’s, the second-biggest DIY store operator in the USA, has entered into a joint venture with Australia’s largest retail company Woolworths. The aim is to develop a DIY store chain in Australia. Lowe’s will own a third of the new company, which plans to open its first store at the end of 2011. The intention is to secure over 150 locations in all in the next five years with an average store retail area of over 9 000 m².
