Sales of the German Baywa organisation came to € 3.7 bn in the second quarter of their financial year, which is 15 per cent down on the same period last year. However, the retail and building segments saw positive development, with the company’s building segment recording sales of around € 800 mio in the first six months. Sales of the DIY and garden stores increased by 1.9 per cent to € 245.6 mio, unlike the builders’ merchant segment, which completed the first half-year with a deficit of around 6 per cent. The retail outlets’ EBIT saw an increase of 14.8 per cent to € 10.9 mio.
