Praktiker presents half-yearly figures

The German Praktiker Group has announced a sales decline of 5.1 per cent to € 1.896 bn for the first six months of 2009. Sales revenue in Germany went down to € 1.405 bn, a decline of 1.0 per cent on the comparable period last year. International sales fell 15 per cent to € 491.6 mio, though the decline came to just 4.9 per cent in local currency terms. The group’s EBITA experienced a slide of 68 per cent in the first six months to € 18.9 mio. The EBITA of € 14.5 mio in Germany remained 58 per cent below last year’s result. The Praktiker Group announced a decline of 81.8 per cent to € 4.4 mio for its international business.
