Tendence: “Reflection of the current market situation”

The five days of the Tendence fair, which also included the Collectione event, came to an end on 7 July 2009 with both visitor and exhibitor numbers perceptibly down. According to Messe Frankfurt, approximately 50 000 visitors attended the events. That figure was 70 000 just a year ago. The fall in domestic visitors was put at eight per cent, with about one-third fewer buyers coming from abroad than last year. The total number of exhibitors fell by a quarter, from 3 013 to 2 091. “Our fairs are a reflection of the current market situation worldwide,” was fair director Dr Michael Peters’s comment on this development.
