RFID instead of bar codes

A new logistics centre has been inaugurated by Fitt, an Italian manufacturer of garden hoses, not far from company headquarters in Sandrigo. Now in use on a site 80 000 m² in size is a building that is 12 m high, covers 27 000 m² and features 15 loading ramps. The facility offers storage space for up to 60 000 pallets. The company uses SAP software for inventory management, which incorporates a program to control the work of the fork lifts. Data transmission is carried out by RFID. There is a special department for so-called order picking, the selection and dispatch of minimal quantities of a variety of articles, as a service specially developed for volume sales.
