The French Mr. Bricolage Group succeeded in increasing external sales by 0.3 per cent to € 412.1 mio in the first three months of 2009. The figures show sales up by 0.6 per cent to € 386.5 mio for the Mr. Bricolage trading format, and down by 4.3 per cent to € 25.6 mio for the Catena stores. Mr. Bricolage sales in France rose by 0.3 per cent in like-for-like terms, and Catena’s were up by 0.1 per cent. The group’s 50 international stores revealed a turnover of € 38.3 mio, which amounts to an increase of 8.8 per cent (-6.1 per cent like-for-like) compared with the same period last year. At the end of the quarter the group numbered 526 outlets (106 of them Catenas) with a combined retail area of 1.237 mio m².
