UK sales fell sharply in the first six months

Sales of woodcare products in the United Kingdom over the period January – October 2008 reached their lowest level in four years: they fell by 9.5 per cent to £ 149 mio. When it comes to products for the interior sector, varnish experienced a drop of 8.5 per cent and now accounts for a market share of just 15.5 per cent, according to GfK Retail and Technology. The key product sectors are water-based treatments and decorative garden finishes, which together represent 48.8 per cent of the total market value.
