Kingfisher ended the third quarter of 2008/09 with a 0.2 per cent increase in sales (currency-adjusted) to £ 2.551 bn (€ 3.246 bn). Retail sales of Europe’s biggest DIY group were 5.1 per cent down in like-for-like terms. Profit fell by 4.0 per cent currency-adjusted to £ 176 mio (€ 224 mio) compared with the previous year. Kingfisher reports a sales increase of 1.7 per cent (currency-adjusted) for the first nine months of its financial year to £ 7.681 bn (€ 9.774 bn), or -3.5 per cent like-for-like. Profit saw a positive development, rising by 3.3 per cent currency-adjusted to £ 453 mio (€ 576 mio).
