Baldwin Knauf receives DIY Lifetime Award

On 18 November 2008 Baldwin Knauf, 69, was presented with the DIY Lifetime Award for his life's work. This is an award made by the BHB, the federal association of German DIY and garden stores, and Dähne Verlag, its media partner, to honour pioneers of the industry. Today's Knauf Group has been mining the raw material gypsum for more than 70 years. Baldwin Knauf had joint responsibility for the economic success of the company and its progress to become one of the biggest building materials groups in the world as managing partner for nearly 40 years, until June 2008.
