Market entry in Romania

Obi opened its first store in Romania on 20 November 2008. The outlet in Oradea, a town of over 200 000 inhabitants that is located about 13 km from the border with Hungary, is approx. 10 000 m² in size. “We want to become a leading light in the Romanian DIY market – market leadership is our goal in every single country where we are actively trading,” said Sergio Giroldi, CEO of the Obi Group, at the opening ceremony.
