Drop in the Canadian home improvement retailer’s sales of more than 2 per cent like-for-like

In the third quarter of 2008 Rona, the Canadian DIY store operator, achieved a sales increase of 2.3 per cent for a total of C $ 1.382 bn (€ 886 mio). However, sales were 2.3 per cent down in like-for-like terms. Net profit was also down, falling by 10.2 per cent on the same period last year to C $ 53.4 mio (€ 34.3 mio). Rona reveals a sales increase of 1.9 per cent to C $ 3.767 bn (€ 2.416 bn) for the first nine months. But like-for-like sales were down (-4.7 per cent), as was net profit (-13.0 per cent), which came to a figure of C $ 134.5 mio (€ 86.3 mio).
