New top management appointment

Stephen Wetmore is to be the new president and chief executive officer of Canadian Tire from January 2009. He will take over the position now occupied by Tom Gauld, who will continue to have a seat on the board of directors. Mr Wetmore most recently held the position of CEO and president of the largest regional telecommunications supplier in North America, Bell Aliant Regional Communications Income Fund.
