Eduard Zimmerle leaves Hornbach

Eduard Zimmerle, for many years vice-chairman of Hornbach Holding AG and chairman of Hornbach Immobilien AG, is retiring from both boards on 31 October 2008. A press release from the company states that he is taking the step for personal reasons and by mutual agreement. Albrecht Hornbach is taking over Mr Zimmerle’s functions on the board of the holding company. From 1 November his responsibilities as chairman of the property company will be looked after by Manfred Kummer, who has worked for years in a managerial capacity within the group’s property operations.
