The growth of new housing starts in the Netherlands has just reached its current peak after the 1995 boom with the expectation that a total of 84 000 new homes will be completed by the end of 2008. However, the annual number of home completions is then expected to fall again from 2009, indicating that no more than 78 500 new homes may be completed in 2010. This is the result of the new residential building forecast from Bouw Kennis, the Dutch sister company of Bau Info Consult, Germany.
