Consumers in Germany are displaying a great willingness to buy more environmentally friendly products

A striking new trend towards a willingness to buy environmentally friendly products is currently becoming evident among consumers in Germany. It appears that 40 per cent of those under 50 years old and as many as 54 per cent over 50 would buy eco- or climate-friendly products, even if they were more or much more expensive than the conventional equivalent. This has emerged from a representative survey made by the GfK (a consumer research company). Only 12 per cent of younger consumers and 9 per cent of older ones appear to be unsympathetic to the idea, even if products with a positive effect on environment and climate did not put any additional burden on their purse.
