The Chinese flooring industry reports annual growth rates of over 10 per cent. The production of wood and laminate flooring amounted to more the 360 m² in 2007. This compares with just 216 m² four years previously, according to the latest survey from CSIL (Centre of Industrial Studies) and Gardino Research. Chinese experts believe that the volume of production will rise to 500 m² in 2010, and that 40 per cent of this production will be exported. This will in turn have a lasting effect on the world flooring market.
