Second time in Japan

The organisers of Ifex (International Flower Expo Tokyo) and Gardex (International Garden and Exterior Expo Tokyo) are expecting 32 000 visitors and 860 exhibitors to the multi-trade event. The Gardex garden fair, which is being staged for the second time there, accounts for 300 of the suppliers. Among the exhibitors who have announced their intention to participate are companies from the United Kingdom, Germany, Portugal, Taiwan and Malaysia. A special section of the fair called the "Greening Zone" is dedicated to the subject of the environment. The flower and plant fair Ifex is being held for the fifth time. According to figures from the organisers, the Japanese flower market is US $ 10 bn in size, which makes it the second largest in the world. The multi-trade event is organised by Reed Exhibitions Japan and the Japan Floral Marketing Association (JFMA), and is due to be held from 30 October to 1 November 2008.
