The Praktiker Group achieved net sales of € 3.945 bn in the 2007 business year, which amounts to 24.8 per cent more than the previous year. Sales in Germany went up by 25.4 per cent to approx. € 2.862 bn through the acquisition of Max Bahr on 1 February 2007. This new subsidiary accounts for a share of € 688 mio. Domestic sales went down by 3.6 per cent in like-for-like terms. Sales abroad rose by 23.0 per cent to € 1.083 bn, or 11.4 per cent like-for-like. That is about 27 per cent of total sales. The group's EBITA rose - before making any allowance for the competition authorities' conditions for clearing the acquisition of Max Bahr - by 13.2 per cent to € 125.8 mio. The profit for the financial year dropped 71.8 per cent to € 23.7 mio.
