The trading formats of the French DIY retail group Mr. Bricolage achieved gross sales of € 1.886 bn in the full 2007 trading year. This amounts to growth of 5.2 per cent over the previous year. At the end of 2007 the group numbered 521 DIY stores with a combined sales area of 1.275 mio m². The Mr. Bricolage stores grew sales by 5.9 per cent to € 1.736 bn. Following nine new openings and 20 store extensions (+36 105 m²) the group had 404 stores in operation at the end of the year, 37 of them abroad, with a combined sales area of 1 172 mio m². The Catena trading format recorded sales of € 130.8 mio in 2007, or 3.5 per cent less than the previous year. Three Catena stores opened altogether, one was extended (+4 939 m²) and eleven were closed down. Consequently the total number of stores went down to 117, with a sales area that comes to 101 117 m².
