Slight growth

The Swiss Jumbo DIY stores achieved sales of CHF 545 mio (€ 345.6 mio) in 2007, according to a report in the Schweizer Handelszeitung. It also said that sales growth amounted to 2.8 per cent, although selling prices were reduced by an average of 1.3 per cent. Jumbo Markt AG numbered 40 DIY stores in Switzerland at the end of 2007. The expectation at head office is for sales figures to remain stable this year, in spite of prices falling still further, and for space productivity to improve.
