Positive start to the season

IPM, the International Plant Fair, which came to the end of its four-day run in Essen on 27 January, recorded growth in terms of both attendance figures and internationality. According to the official report, approx. 60 000 visitors from 93 countries registered for the event (2007: 58 000). One-third of them came from abroad. There was a particularly strong increase in visitors from Asia, whose numbers doubled. In addition, many more visitors came from eastern Europe than was previously the case. The number of exhibitors also increased slightly, amounting to a total of 1 423 from 46 countries.
