The company continues to rank third in the global retail league table

There are two DIY retailers among the Top Ten in the global retail league table. In Deloitte’s 2006 study, “Global Powers of Retailing”, Home Depot was ranked fourth and Sears Holding ninth. Whereas Home Depot was able to maintain its position in comparison with the 2000 results, Sears Holding had to relinquish seventh position in favour of Target. There was no change at all in the first two positions: Wal-Mart (USA) was number one in both 2000 and 2006, and Carrefour (France) filled the second spot.
