Batimat, the French building trade fair that took place in Paris from 5 – 10 November, has issued preliminary results. These show that the number of visitors, which were down by almost 7 per cent in 2005, have gone up slightly again by 1.2 per cent to 447 738. The international visitor total experienced a greater increase than the national figure, with a share of the overall attendance figure up from 18 per cent to 18.5 per cent. This year’s event saw strong contingents from Morocco, Tunesia, Russia and Brazil once again, over and above eastern Europe. And according to the organisers, Poland showed an extremely marked increase resulting from its status as the guest country at this year’s Batimat.
