High attendance figure

On 22 November 2007 John W. Herbert, general secretary of Edra, was able to greet more than 640 international delegates to the 8th International Home Centre Congress staged in Berlin by BHB, the German national DIY association, in cooperation with Edra, the European DIY Retail Association. “One world – sustainability and energy efficiency” was one of the main subjects under discussion at the two-day event. Among the highlights of the conference was the presentation of the DIY Lifetime Award to Otmar Hornbach, who for decades headed the family-run concern of the same name and had a decisive influence on the history of DIY retailing in Germany.
