The Spanish DIY retailer Bricoking is to leave the Brico Group buying cooperative at the end of 2007. With a total of 25 DIY stores, Bricoking is the biggest member of the group, which comprises 25 members and 76 stores. In explanation of the pullout, Juan José Jaén Rodriguez, vice president and CEO of Grupo Jaerod/Bricoking, said that Bricoking felt it had now reached a size when it could itself become a member of Bricoalliance, the pan-European buying cooperative. Bricoalliance, which was established in March 2006 by Brico Group (Spain), Mestre Maco (Portugal), Hubo (Belgium) and Punto Legno (Italy), today works in cooperation with around 100 suppliers.
