Thorsten Vogt, 39, has been named as the new country director for Obi in Russia and successor to Romano Quinzi. Mr Vogt has moved from the Metro Group, where he worked most recently as managing director of Real Russia. As country director he reports straight to Dieter Messner, Obi’s international director. Obi employs a workforce of 1 800 in Russia, where the company has been active since 2003. It currently operates eleven stores located in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan and Ekaterinenburg.
