Change at the top

Pedro Mendes Leal is the new chief executive officer of Mestre Maco, the Portuguese DIY retail group. He is the successor in this position to António Rodrigues da Cruz, who will remain in the company as a member of the board, as well as acting as a consultant to companies planning to enter the Spanish/Portuguese DIY market. Mestre Maco operates 26 DIY stores in Portugal and one in Spain under the Izi banner. Two new openings in each country are scheduled for 2008.
