Three men from the DIY field feature on the Forbes list of the 400 richest Americans

Forbes, a major American business magazine, recently published a list of the 400 richest Americans. Three men from the field of DIY retailing made it onto the list. Right at the top is John Menard, owner of the DIY chain of the same name, with an estimated fortune of US $ 7.5 bn. He is followed by Bernie Marcus, co-founder of Home Depot, with US $ 2 bn and Arthur Blank, his founding partner, with US $ 1.5 bn. Both Blank and Marcus are active in charitable organisations. Recently Marcus donated US $ 250 mio to the new aquarium in Atlanta, and Blank bought the Atlanta Falcons football team.
