Exports at record level

China overtook the USA as an exporter in the second quarter of 2007 and is continuing the race to catch up with Germany, the world champion exporting country. While the USA managed to increase its exports by just 10.6 per cent to US $ 289 bn, China saw growth of 27.5 per cent to US $ 295 bn, which means it is closing up on Germany, still the number one exporter at US $ 323 bn (+ 19 per cent).
