Kingfisher has announced the group’s sales figures for the ten weeks to 14 July. They reveal a sales increase of 7.2 per cent, or 2.6 per cent like-for-like. Sales in Britain were downward once more (-0.7 per cent, like-for-like -1.5 per cent) after making positive progress in the first quarter. By contrast, the group’s international business reported growth of 14 per cent (6.0 per cent like-for-like). Sales in France rose by 9.9 per cent (2.7 per cent like-for-like), in the rest of Europe by 26.2 per cent (14.4 per cent like-for-like) and in Asia by 16.9 per cent (9.9 per cent like-for-like). For the 23 weeks to 14 July Kingfisher revealed an 11 per cent increase of consolidated sales, or 4.7 per cent like-for-like.
