Praktiker steps up group sales by 26.9 per cent in the second quarter

Praktiker stepped up group sales by 26.9 per cent to € 1.13 bn in the second quarter of 2007. Sales in Germany grew by 28.0 per cent to € 838.6 mio, and by 24.0 per cent to € 288.9 mio abroad. For the first six months of 2007 Praktiker reports sales up by 24.8 per cent to € 2.004 bn. The increase of 24.2 per cent in Germany to € 1.51 bn was generated through Max Bahr alone. In like-for-like terms the Praktiker stores recorded sales three per cent down on the figure for the first six months of 2006. The international segment reveals a sales increase of 26.8 per cent to € 495.4 mio. In the first six months of 2007 the stores were able to improve on last year’s result by 5.7 per cent for a total of € 49.1 mio.
