Baumax was able to increase sales in Austria by 9.2 per cent in the first six months of 2007. The group’s stores in central and southeast Europe together achieved an increase of 25 per cent. This means that the company as a whole experienced a sales increase of 16.6 per cent, according to a press release. The announcement also says that the development can mainly be put down to the weather conditions and will most probably not last until the end of the year. For the entire 12 months of 2007 Baumax expects sales in the amount of € 1.25 bn. It is intended to increasse the number of stores from 124 to 132.
